Carole King gently captures the feminist zeitgeist of the era in an accessible manner, fusing folk-rock instrumentation with a solid cast of backing musicians (including Joni Mitchell and James Taylor) as well as the dependable production of Lou Adler. There's no radical statement on Tapestry. But there are no weak cuts either.
